DC PICOAMMETER E26

The EM DC Picoammeter model E26 is a sensitive measuring instrument for the measurement of current down to 10 femtoamps, and resistance to 1 T ohm. There are 9 ranges from + or - 2 mA full scale down to + or - 20 pA full scale.  The dynamic range of the E26 is + or - 2,000, so the current resolution on the lowest range is 10 femtoamps.
There is a 1 volt reference at the front panel, which may be used to make a high resistance measurement up to more that 1 T ohm. The resistance to be measured is connected between the reference output and the measurement input, and the reciprocal of the resulting measurement gives the value of the resistance.
There is an analogue output at the rear of the instrument, which gives an output of + or - 2 volts for full scale of the selected range. This is useful if the E26 is to be used in an automatic system or if the output is to be digitised and fed via an interface bus.
The input connector is a BNC type, with a cover. The output connectors are 4mm sockets at the rear panel. The 1 volt reference is connected via a 4mm socket at the front panel.
The meter is a 3.5 digit LCD type with clear 12.7mm digits.
The E26 is powered by internal chargeable batteries which have an operating time of greater than 100 hours from each charge, dependent on the level of current being measured. 
The internal charger operates from 50 or 60 Hz supplies at 110 volts to 240 volts without adjustment. The power consumption is 1VA.
The E26 is a compact instrument, enclosed in an aluminium case with an ABS outer cover.

Output

Power Supply
Batteries with internal charger, giving more than 100 hours operation per charge.               The current being measured will be drawn from the power supply and so will shorten the discharge time of the batteries slightly.                                                                   Mains supply 100 volts to 240 volts 50Hz or 60Hz 1VA.
